Lactic Acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that gently exfoliates the skin’s surface to improve texture and clarity. Lactic Acid 5% + HA 2% is a mild exfoliating formula designed for beginners or those looking for gentle exfoliation, while helping to maintain skin hydration.

This formula is supported with a purified Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative, a plant-based ingredient known to help reduce visible signs of inflammation and sensitivity commonly associated with acid exfoliation. Due to its natural origin, the colour of this derivative may vary seasonally, and slight colour variation in the formula is normal.

Important Usage Information

Lactic Acid should not be used on sensitive, peeling, or compromised skin. As with all exfoliating acids, daily sun protection is essential while using this product and for the week following use. Please refer to the Directions section for full usage guidance and precautions.

pH & Formula Science

This formula has an approximate pH of 3.8. Lactic Acid also has a pKa of 3.8, which is a critical factor in acid formulation. When the pH closely matches the pKa, there is an optimal balance between acidity and salt form, allowing the acid to work effectively while minimising irritation. Increasing the pH beyond this point may actually increase irritation by raising salt concentration, rather than reducing it.

We recommend using this product within 12 months after opening.
